Kuura Glass designs present Nordic design in its typical natural simplicity. Clean lines and high functionality meet glass-making skill and techniques honed by intensive study and endless repetition in creating these shapes and vessels.
Each design captures the story of untamed Nordic wilderness and peace, balanced with its surroundings.
You can take pride using and collecting Kuura Glass in the modern world, where things are often mass produced.
These designs stand the test of time and deliver harmony in the same way in which they’re crafted, one piece at the time.
“A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”
— Antoine de Saint-Exupery
After more than 15 years working as a graphic and user interface designer in the mobile device space, Jussi Sistonen-Lönnroth was introduced to working with hot molten glass and has never looked back.
Years of experimenting and practicing with molten glass has refined his ideas for these glass vessels. All Kuura Glass vessels are 100% handmade with pride, and with a commitment to ancient craft of glass blowing.
All handcrafted Kuura Glass objects are designed and made by Jussi Sistonen-Lönnroth.
Kuura Glasses may vary slightly from one to another, as all handmade objects do, but that is part of their unique charm and character.
